Norman Taylor, Family Walks author and Foothills manager, runs regular guided walks around the Peak District on Wednesday afternoons throughout the year. These walks are popular so it is necessary to book in advance at the Foothills shop or using the booking form on this site. Free loan of boots, waterproofs and poles can be arranged. If any club or group would like Norman to plan and guide a walk for them come into the shop and we will see what can be arranged. The walks are categorized as either Beginners / Shorter or Moorland. Beginners / Shorter Walks. These walks are typically around five miles long and are suitable for beginners and anybody who loves the outdoors. Moorland Walks. Venturing into the heart of the peak district these walks are of a more demanding nature. Usually covering seven to ten miles the moorland walks are suited to those who wish to gain experience off the beaten trail. Advice on compass work and navigation is available.
