If your online purchase is not suitable, you have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

You must notify us within 14 days of receiving your goods that you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

To initiate a return, please complete our Online Returns Form and include it with your item(s).

Returned items must be:

  • Unused
  • In their original condition
  • With all original packaging and labels attached

You must include your Foothills order number and clear instructions regarding whether you require a refund or exchange.

Exchanges (Online Orders)

If you would prefer an exchange (for example, a different size or colour), please indicate this clearly when returning your item.

Exchanges are subject to stock availability.

If the requested replacement is unavailable, we will issue a refund instead.

If the replacement item is of higher value, you will be required to pay the difference before dispatch. If it is of lower value, we will refund the difference.

Return Postage (Online Orders)

Unless the goods are faulty or incorrect, return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Returned goods remain the responsibility of the customer until they are safely received by us. We strongly recommend using a reliable tracked or signed-for service and retaining proof of postage, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

Due to previous delivery issues, we do not recommend using Evri for returns. We cannot accept responsibility for lost or delayed items.

Proof of postage does not constitute proof of delivery.

Refunds (Online Orders – Non-Faulty Goods)

Once we receive your returned goods, we will process your refund within 14 days.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method.

We will refund:

  • The cost of the goods
  • The standard delivery charge (if the entire order is cancelled)

We are not required to refund any premium delivery upgrades selected at checkout.

We may make a deduction from your refund if the goods show signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

In-Store Returns

For items purchased in-store, we offer refunds, exchanges or credit notes within 21 days of purchase, provided that:

  • The item is unused
  • It is returned in its original condition
  • You provide proof of purchase

This 21-day returns period forms part of our customer service commitment, including our boot fit guarantee.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method where possible.

After 21 days, refunds or exchanges are offered only if the goods are faulty or not as described, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Faulty Goods

Your rights regarding faulty goods are protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose:

  • Please contact us as soon as possible.

You are entitled to a full refund within the first 30 days of delivery if the item is faulty.
  • After 30 days, we will offer a repair or replacement in accordance with your statutory rights.

Where appropriate and reasonable, faulty goods may be repaired rather than replaced. If repair is not possible or cannot be completed within a reasonable time, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.

If an item is confirmed as faulty.

  • We will provide a free return postage label, or
  • Refund your reasonable return postage costs.

Some items may need to be returned for inspection or testing before a fault is confirmed.

Excluded Items

For hygiene reasons, we do not accept returns of underwear unless faulty.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Care Guide – Nubuck Leather

Keep your boots clean and well‑waterproofed to maintain performance, extend their lifespan and, most importantly, keep your feet dry.

1. Remove laces and footbeds. Take out the laces and footbeds, and shake out any grit or dirt from inside the boots. Clean the footbeds if needed and leave them to air out.

2. Clean your boots thoroughly. Use Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel or Grangers Footwear & Gear Cleaner, scrubbing with a firm‑bristle brush under running water. Clean both the uppers and soles, removing trapped grit or stones, and pay special attention to the tongue gusset area, which often holds hidden dirt.

3. Wax: Foothills Recommendation. Remember, Nubuck leather is just leather and needs to be treated as such to maintain optimum performance. Wax the Nubuck leather boots like traditional leather boots using Altberg Leder‑Gris or Zamberlan Hydrobloc. This will darken the leather and give it a shinier appearance, but it helps to keep it soft, supple, and more water‑resistant, therefore increasing the longevity of your boots.

4. Dry boots naturally. Allow boots to dry away from radiators or direct heat sources. Excess heat can cause leather and suede to dry out, crack or split.

5. Store boots correctly. Keep boots in a cool, dry, room‑temperature environment. Avoid damp places such as sheds, basements or porches, as moisture can lead to hydrolysis, causing the sole units to deteriorate over time.
