Online Returns (Distance Sales)

If your online purchase is not suitable, you have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

You must notify us within 14 days of receiving your goods that you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

To initiate a return, please complete our Online Returns Form and include it with your item(s).

Returned items must be:

  • Unused
  • In their original condition
  • With all original packaging and labels attached

You must include your Foothills order number and clear instructions regarding whether you require a refund or exchange.

Exchanges (Online Orders)

If you would prefer an exchange (for example, a different size or colour), please indicate this clearly when returning your item.

Exchanges are subject to stock availability.

If the requested replacement is unavailable, we will issue a refund instead.

If the replacement item is of higher value, you will be required to pay the difference before dispatch. If it is of lower value, we will refund the difference.

Return Postage (Online Orders)

Unless the goods are faulty or incorrect, return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Returned goods remain the responsibility of the customer until they are safely received by us. We strongly recommend using a reliable tracked or signed-for service and retaining proof of postage, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

Due to previous delivery issues, we do not recommend using Evri for returns. We cannot accept responsibility for lost or delayed items.

Proof of postage does not constitute proof of delivery.

Refunds (Online Orders – Non-Faulty Goods)

Once we receive your returned goods, we will process your refund within 14 days.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method.

We will refund:

  • The cost of the goods
  • The standard delivery charge (if the entire order is cancelled)

We are not required to refund any premium delivery upgrades selected at checkout.

We may make a deduction from your refund if the goods show signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

In-Store Returns

For items purchased in-store, we offer refunds, exchanges or credit notes within 21 days of purchase, provided that:

  • The item is unused
  • It is returned in its original condition
  • You provide proof of purchase

This 21-day returns period forms part of our customer service commitment, including our boot fit guarantee.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method where possible.

After 21 days, refunds or exchanges are offered only if the goods are faulty or not as described, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Faulty Goods

Your rights regarding faulty goods are protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose:

  • Please contact us as soon as possible.

You are entitled to a full refund within the first 30 days of delivery if the item is faulty.
  • After 30 days, we will offer a repair or replacement in accordance with your statutory rights.

Where appropriate and reasonable, faulty goods may be repaired rather than replaced. If repair is not possible or cannot be completed within a reasonable time, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.

If an item is confirmed as faulty.

  • We will provide a free return postage label, or
  • Refund your reasonable return postage costs.

Some items may need to be returned for inspection or testing before a fault is confirmed.

Excluded Items

For hygiene reasons, we do not accept returns of underwear unless faulty.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Altberg Nordkapp Hiking Boot Unisex in Brown

Season:SS26

Brand:Altberg

Code:AB-HK-NORD

Product Description

The Altberg Nordkapp is a 3‑season Nubuck trekking boot designed for long days on Lakeland fells, mountain trails and rugged UK terrain. The upper is made from a single piece of 2.4–2.6 mm full‑grain Nubuck leather, giving excellent durability, weather resistance and a smooth, supportive fit. A high rubber rand provides added protection against abrasion on rocky ground.

The Nordkapp is built on the Altberg A‑Forme last, which combines a narrow heel and waist with a slightly wider forefoot. This shape offers secure rearfoot hold while allowing natural toe spread, improving comfort and stability on uneven terrain.

Underfoot, the Tri‑Flex® 3 midsole provides strong torsional resistance and graded flex control, making the boot suitable for steeper, more technical ground. The Defender Hi‑Traction outsole delivers excellent uphill traction, downhill braking and SRC‑rated slip resistance, with anti‑static and oil‑resistant properties for varied conditions.

For Nubuck leather, Altberg recommends following their specific care guidance to maintain performance and appearance.

Size Guide

Altberg AForme Last

The A‑Forme Last is Altberg’s more asymmetric foot shape, designed to follow the natural curve of the foot and reduce pressure on the big toe. Many of its features are inspired by running‑shoe design.

Narrower heel and waist to hold and support the rear of the foot

Increased upwards toe lift (rocker) to improve walking efficiency

Reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, ideal for those prone to joint irritation

Wider forefoot with slightly above‑medium volume, allowing natural toe spread

This last shape works particularly well for walkers whose big toe is the longest, and who prefer a snug heel fit with a more generous forefoot.

Choosing the Right Altberg Last Shape

5‑Width Last – Tapered toebox that narrows towards the centre. Best if your second or third toes are the longest. Examples: Altberg Fremington, Altberg Tethera

G‑Fit Last– Squarer toebox with more room across the forefoot. Ideal for walkers with a wide forefoot and naturally square toe shape. Examples: Altberg Keld, Altberg Kisdon

A‑Forme Last– More asymmetric shape with a snug heel and a wider forefoot. Best if your big toe is the longest and you have slim heels. Examples: Altberg Malham, Altberg Nordkapp

General Altberg Advice

Altberg boots tend to run slightly short. Most customers benefit from going ½ a size up from their normal shoe size, especially when wearing walking socks.

Care Guide - Leather Boots

Keep your leather boots clean and well‑waterproofed to maintain performance, extend their lifespan and, most importantly, keep your feet dry.

1. Remove laces and footbeds
Take out the laces and footbeds, and shake out any grit or dirt from inside the boots. Clean the footbeds if needed and leave them to air out.

2. Clean your boots thoroughly
Use Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel or Grangers Footwear & Gear Cleaner, scrubbing with a firm‑bristle brush under running water. Clean both the uppers and soles, removing trapped grit or stones, and pay special attention to the tongue gusset area, which often holds hidden dirt.

3. Apply wax once dry
When the boots are fully dry, apply a suitable wax such as Altberg Leder Gris, Zamberlan Hydrobloc, or Grangers G‑Wax using a soft brush or cloth. This maintains the water‑repellent treatment and keeps the leather soft, nourished and supple.

4. Store boots correctly
Keep boots in a cool, dry, room‑temperature environment. Avoid damp places such as sheds, basements or porches, as moisture can cause hydrolysis, leading to deterioration of the sole unit.
