Exchanges are subject to stock availability.

If the requested replacement is unavailable, we will issue a refund instead.

If the replacement item is of higher value, you will be required to pay the difference before dispatch. If it is of lower value, we will refund the difference.

Return Postage (Online Orders)

Unless the goods are faulty or incorrect, return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Returned goods remain the responsibility of the customer until they are safely received by us. We strongly recommend using a reliable tracked or signed-for service and retaining proof of postage, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

Due to previous delivery issues, we do not recommend using Evri for returns. We cannot accept responsibility for lost or delayed items.

Proof of postage does not constitute proof of delivery.

Once we receive your returned goods, we will process your refund within 14 days.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method.

We will refund:

  • The cost of the goods

We are not required to refund any premium delivery upgrades selected at checkout.

We may make a deduction from your refund if the goods show signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

  • The item is unused
  • It is returned in its original condition
  • You provide proof of purchase

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method where possible.

After 21 days, refunds or exchanges are offered only if the goods are faulty or not as described, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Faulty Goods

Your rights regarding faulty goods are protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose:

  • Please contact us as soon as possible.

You are entitled to a full refund within the first 30 days of delivery if the item is faulty.
  • After 30 days, we will offer a repair or replacement in accordance with your statutory rights.

Where appropriate and reasonable, faulty goods may be repaired rather than replaced. If repair is not possible or cannot be completed within a reasonable time, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.

If an item is confirmed as faulty.

  • We will provide a free return postage label, or

Altberg Peacekeeper P1 Original Unisex Police Boot in Black

Season:CORE

Brand:Altberg

Code:AB-PL-PEAP1

Product Description

First developed in 1993 for the RAF Regiment’s Peacekeeper Challenge competition in the USA, this Altberg police boot quickly became the preferred choice for many UK police forces. It was the first boot in the UK to be certified to a police‑specific specification, meeting requirements for shock absorption, water repellency, breathability and flame resistance. The boot is certified to BSEN 20347:2012.

The upper is made from 2.4 mm full‑grain Anfibio® leather, chosen for durability and long‑term performance. The lining is Cambrelle®, which is highly breathable and designed for all‑day comfort. There is no waterproof membrane, allowing moisture to disperse quickly during long shifts or high‑activity use.

Underfoot, the Altberg Rhino sole provides excellent shock absorption, a deep rubber surround for durability, and a hiking‑boot‑style tread pattern. It is tested for SRC slip resistance as well as oil and acid resistance, making it suitable for varied police and duty environments.

Altberg recommend regular treatment with Leder‑Gris® wax oil to keep the leather supple and extend the life of the boot.

TheAltberg 5 Width Lastis the foundation of Altberg’s classic hiking boot fit. First introduced in 1994, it was developed intofive width and volume fittings, allowing walkers to achieve a far more precise and comfortable fit than standard footwear.

The wider fittings offerextra room in the forefoot, particularly around the ball of the foot, making them ideal for walkers withwide feet or bunions.

The 5‑Width toebox remainstapered towards the centre. If yoursecond or third toes are the longest, this last shape is usually the best match.

If yourbig toe is the longestand you haveslim heels, theAltberg A‑Forme Lastis likely to be the best shape found in theAltberg Blueline police boot.

Care Guide - Police Boots

Keep your leather boots clean and well‑waterproofed to maintain performance, extend their lifespan and, most importantly, keep your feet dry.

1. Remove laces and footbeds
Take out the laces and footbeds, and shake out any grit or dirt from inside the boots. Clean the footbeds if needed and leave them to air out.

2. Clean your boots thoroughly
UseNikwax Footwear Cleaning GelorGrangers Footwear & Gear Cleaner, scrubbing with a firm‑bristle brush under running water. Clean both theuppers and soles, removing trapped grit or stones, and pay special attention to thetongue gusset area, which often holds hidden dirt.

3. Apply wax once dry
When the boots are fully dry, apply black Altberg Leder Gris, using a soft brush or cloth. This maintains the water‑repellent treatment and keeps the leather soft, nourished and supple. Use black Altberg Leder Glossto maintain a high shine.

4. Store boots correctly
Keep boots in acool, dry, room‑temperature environment. Avoid damp places such as sheds, basements or porches, as moisture can causehydrolysis, leading to deterioration of the sole unit.
